Medical History

Anamnesis: 21-year-old patient presents for HBOT evaluation complaining of pain in the left knee, being diagnosed with post-traumatic osteonecrosis of the left femoral condyle.
Family history: None known.

CLINICAL PRESENTATION:

Symptoms: Knee pain.
Duration: 3 months
Aggravating factors: Walking.
Alleviating factors: None.

Treatment History:

Current medications: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs as needed.
Previous treatments: None.

Investigations:

Results: Knee MRI.
Diagnosis: Osteonecrosis of the left lateral femoral condyle, grade I.

Treatment Plan:

Recommended medication: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs as needed.
Therapeutic interventions: Hyperbaric therapy protocol of 20 sessions followed by MRI evaluation after completion.

EVOLUTION AND PROGNOSIS:

Evolution: The patient presented for reassessment and reported that the pain had completely disappeared.
Prognosis: Favorable.
Reassessment: Imaging investigations confirm complete healing, with complete remission of edema (100%). The left knee presents almost normal mobility, without pain.

FINAL OBSERVATIONS:

Follow-up recommended as needed.
