Anamnesis: The patient presents with osteochondritis dissecans, discovered postoperatively after a meniscectomy. The patient complains of 5/10 pain at the level of the right knee, symptomatology that started approximately 5 months ago following a fall on the knee and has worsened in the last 3 months. The patient was evaluated cardiologically preoperatively and no heart failure was identified.
Family history: None.
Symptoms: 5/10 pain at the level of the right knee.
Duration: 5 months ago.
Aggravating factors: None.
Ameliorating factors: None.
Current medications: Tenaxum, Detralex, Diurex as needed, Arcoxia as needed.
Previous treatments: Tenaxum, Detralex, Diurex as needed, Arcoxia as needed.
Results: Knee MRI.
Diagnosis: Edema with osteonecrosis focus of right internal femoral condyle. Arterial hypertension. Chronic venous insufficiency
Recommended medication: None prescribed.
Therapeutic interventions: Hyperbaric therapy 20 sessions.
Evolution: The patient presents for reevaluation and reports that the pain is the same, mobility on the other hand is better, at night there is no more pain, when climbing stairs the pain is the same. Now sleep occurs even on the affected leg in extension.
Prognosis: Edema reduced by 80%, also confirmed radiologically.
Another round of 20 sessions is recommended for symptom improvement and complete remission.
