Medical History

Anamnesis: 47-year-old patient presents for evaluation regarding hyperbaric therapy with the diagnosis of Aseptic necrosis of the femoral head stage I/II. Stage II hypertension under treatment.
Family history: None known.

CLINICAL PRESENTATION:

Symptoms: Pain in the left hip joint, as well as reduced joint mobility.
Duration: Several months.
Aggravating factors: None.
Alleviating factors: None.

Treatment History:

Current medications: None.
Previous treatments: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Investigations:

Results: MRI of the pelvic bone.
Diagnosis: Aseptic necrosis of the femoral head, stage I/II according to Arlet and Ficat.

Treatment Plan:

Recommended medication: None prescribed.
Therapeutic interventions: 20 sessions of hyperbaric therapy.

EVOLUTION AND PROGNOSIS:

Evolution: After 30 sessions of hyperbaric therapy, the patient presents for reassessment and reports that he has already started working, and the pain has decreased from 8/10 to 3-4/10. Subjectively, the patient feels much better.
Result: Edema has decreased by approximately 60-70%, and minimal edema has appeared at the acetabulum level. Following this progress, another course of 20 sessions is recommended.

FINAL OBSERVATIONS:

The patient is scheduled to return for reassessment.
