Deterioration in the physical and cognitive functions of individuals has become a real concern in the developed world due to increasing life expectancy. It is estimated that more than half of the population over the age of 60 suffer from manifestations associated with declining physical and cognitive abilities. Thus, major research efforts are being made to improve the cognitive performance of the typical older person.
There is a growing body of research demonstrating the beneficial effects of periodic hyperbaric therapy in preserving and improving cognitive function.
On the other hand, there is a positive correlation between cognitive ability and a person's physical functions.
