Multiple recent studies support the beneficial effects of hyperbaric therapy on brain damage. In post-stroke patients, neurological improvement is seen in both cognitive and motor aspects. Hyperbaric therapy remains effective even in the late chronic stages.
The validity of the reparative mechanisms triggered by hyperbaric therapy also implies the possibility of reactivation of neuroplasticity after a long time after the onset of brain injury. In this way, the correspondence between brain anatomy and related physiology can be restored.
