Trattamento antitumorale adiuvante
Le ricerche suggeriscono che l'uso della terapia iperbarica (HBOT) insieme a radioterapia o chemioterapia puo dare risultati significativi nella riduzione di mortalita e recidive. HBOT puo contribuire al trattamento del cancro in diversi modi, come il miglioramento del flusso sanguigno verso il tumore, il rallentamento della crescita delle cellule tumorali (in particolare quelle ipossiche, con basso contenuto di ossigeno) e l'aumento dell'efficacia della terapia standard.
Inoltre, HBOT puo aiutare anche a ridurre gli effetti collaterali del trattamento oncologico, come nausea, vomito e affaticamento.
