Traumatisme craniene și sindromul postcomoțional

Traumatismele craniene sunt printre principalele cauze de mortalitate și incapacitate în țările dezvoltate. Aproximativ 25% dintre aceste cazuri sunt considerate irecuperabile (i.e. severe), presupunând disfuncții neurocognitive cronice.

Studii recente susțin capacitatea terapiei hiperbarice de activare a neuroplasticității în celelalte 75% dintre cazuri. Chiar în cazul sindromului postcomoțional cronic apar îmbunătățiri neurologice semnificative, concretizate în recuperarea funcției cognitive.
