Tratament antitumoral adjuvant
Cercetările sugerează că utilizarea terapiei hiperbarice (HBOT) împreună cu radioterapia sau chimioterapia poate avea rezultate semnificative în reducerea mortalității și a recidivelor. HBOT poate contribui la tratarea cancerului prin mai multe modalități, cum ar fi îmbunătățirea fluxului sanguin către tumoare, încetinirea creșterii celulelor canceroase (în special celulele canceroase hipoxice, care au un conținut scăzut de oxigen) și creșterea eficacității terapiei standard.
