Aseptische Knochennekrose
Zahlreiche neuere Studien zeigen, dass die hyperbare Sauerstofftherapie (HBO) erfolgreich zur Behandlung der aseptischen Hüftkopfnekrose, insbesondere in frühen Stadien, eingesetzt werden kann. Dadurch können aufwendige Eingriffe wie ein Hüftgelenkersatz vermieden werden. HBO regt das Wachstum neuer Blutgefäße an, die Sauerstoff und Nährstoffe für die Regeneration des Knochengewebes liefern können. Sie kann auch helfen, Schmerzen zu lindern und Infektionen vorzubeugen.
Die HBO wird zunehmend von Orthopäden empfohlen, um das Fortschreiten der avaskulären Knochennekrose aufzuhalten und das Auftreten einer Coxarthrose (Hüftarthrose) zu verhindern.
