Kiegészítő daganatellenes kezelés

A kutatások során arra jutottak, hogy a hiperbár-terápia (HBOT) és a sugárkezelés vagy kemoterápia együttes alkalmazásával komoly eredmények érhetők el a halálozás és a kiújulás arányának csökkentésében. A HBOT számos módon járulhat hozzá a rák kezeléséhez, például a daganat vérellátásának javítása, a rákos sejtek (különösen az alacsony oxigéntartalmú, hipoxiás rákos sejtek) növekedésének lelassítása és a hagyományos terápia hatékonyságának növelése révén.

Emellett a HBOT segíthet csökkenteni a rákkezelés mellékhatásait, például a hányingert, a hányást és a fáradtságot.
